If I pay my monthly mortgage payment 10-20...

...days early each month, will this decrease the int. I owe each month? Is interest on a mortgage calculated daily? Will this slightly increase the principal portion that I will be paying the next month?Can't afford to pay extra principal monthly on the loan right now, but was wondering if sending in early would have a smaller similar effect?
