Default How many mortgage applications should I fill

out? From what I know about credit reports, several credit inquiries for loans made in the same week will only appear as 1 inquiry on a credit report because the agencies know that you are shopping around for the best rate, fees, etc. How many applications should I fill out? I would like to fill out at least 3 so I have a better chance at getting approved. How many would be overkill? There's a lot to my financial situation. I'm married but I'm a student and my husband is the only worker. He hasn't had his job that long because he lost his last job in January. Our scores are right around 670 (his is a little higher, mine is a little lower), and we make $23,000/year.

You'd do better to just find a reputable bank, mortgage broker, or credit union. These days if you find out your FICO scores they can give you a pretty good idea of what you can get...especially a good credit union. I'd certainly wouldn't do more than 3 or 4 but that is a lot of money in application fees for something you probably could find out for free.
