Default anyway to afford to move if in mortgage debt?

because if you move my mother said then money from house would take money we would need to buy another- any way out of mortgage debt so we can move?

You must sell your current residence first. Pay off the existing mortgage, and buy another house. Hopefully you'll have 20% downIf you are upside down in your current house, Mortgage is Higher than the Value of the House. You won't be able to move until the value goes up again or you pay down your current mortgage.
