Default Do you think i can get approved for a...

...mortgage. i make 30k i have 18k in student loans. no car loans or other? debt. I want to buy a home for 65-75k .. i noticed alot of forclosed home in my area stone mountain ga. im already renting a home for 845 a month .. i would rather own instead of spending another yr renting. my credit is 607 when i last checked. I want to put about 5k down

Well, you should plan to put at least 10% down. 20% will help you to avoid PMI.The first thing you should do is get out from under the $18K in debt.

Hmmm. You might want to ask about an FHA loan to start. There are several down payment assistance programs available. Your fico is not great but it's not terrible. Calculate your debt to income. That is going to be a huge factor for any loan. Make sure you ask your broker about government loans. They are the life blood of the industry right now. Also, watch out, GA has one of the highest fraud rates in the country. Don't get pulled in by a crafty broker who over charges you in fees. Shop around.
