You are gonna have to do more than that, you will have to prove to them that you are in a financial hardship,and will have to be a few months behind..one month wont do it..me and my husband put our house up for sale and because of the economy couldnt sell it for 8 months..we got tired of paying that second note so we didnt for 3 months till we got it rented out..and have had to go through lots of hoops to get it modified to fit our needs..its more than just missing a payment you are gonna have to be a few months behind, prove through paystubs,etc..that you cannot pay the amt you are paying..hardship letters..the list goes on its a big fiasco..

Hey you and many other people including myself was and are in this position. I found a great company very Professional, knowledgeable, and fast. I met with them they asked for all the information that banks and lenders need up front so there is no back and forth, when they put your loan package together the bank has no other choice to review your situation and work something out. They also advise you according to your situation. the bank was going to sell my house on a Monday i called them thursday got them the paperwork they needed Friday, and they got a signed loan modification letter from the bank before the end of the business day Friday. They saved me and my home. No SCAMS, NO BS, they mean what they say, and they can back it up check out there sight and you can even see if you qualify for there services, i didn't think i would but i did. One thing I recommend is checking out they do this report that will qualify you with up to 40 different banks but also offer you free modification assistance. Its cheap i think its like less than $40 bucks and you pay a monthly fee of like 30 dollars to update the report anytime and make sure you get the best loan! they qualify you based on the application you fill out so it checks out your situation..i got this and it helped me..hope that helps!
