Can I apply for a credit card
I do not have any mortgage payments. I want to apply for a credit card. I have good money management skills, I have no fear about owning a credit card; I have established a strict regiment on spending and I will stay within my means. I stay lean with no mortgage payments or rents. I still live at home with my parents, although I will be moving in with cousin soon, and not responsible for bills there either. Every time I fill out an application, there is a box that asks for rent or mortgage payment. Is there a way to get credit?

your best bet will to open a check and savings account to start building credit. Start there and you will be on your way.

Place a $0.00 in the place for rent or mortgage. Many times a day there are credit cards given without mortgage payments or rents. Your issue is that you have no credit and that is what is causing the denial. You may have to have a cosigner or may have to start with a secure card. You spend some time building your credit with a secure card you will be ready for a real card.
