My father became critical in 05, thank God he made it through, well they were in a PI only loan & it was going to go up, so I decided to help them out & help them remortgage the home w/ me on it. Here is whats happened, are mortgage was sold to a co, MGC Mortgage & we made two payments with them & they didn't cash the checks on time & did so in one month., so one must have bounced but the co. never notified us we were told when it was sold back to GMAC, so they are claiming were behind. We are struggling to make a payment of $1909.58 each month, along with paying the other expenses they go with a home. My parents have filed for bankruptcy & would like to keep there home. They received a notice stating that the lawyers were going to go to court on Dec, 23rd. I don't understand this letter & we would like to stay in our home, and are hoping that someone can help us lower the payment to help us afford our monthly payment. Hope this helps as many as it has helped my family, We got denied a modification from gmac, so we contacted a company called HOPE in south florida, which is a non-profit organization that assisted us through the whole process untill our loan modification was complete, great company and service, they charge nothing to assist you, they were able to assist in lowering our mortgage balance , our monthly payment and our interest rate down to 4.2%, it took about 6 weeks to complete everything.
