Our situation is that my family and I hired a loan modification agency and we paid them 2,500 in full. Our agent told us that it would only take a few months but its been 5 mths already and we received a notice of default for forclosure today and it says our home will be put up for sale by Apr. 8, 2009. Our Loan Mod. agent said not to worry and that she would postpone the sale date. Should we wait it out? or should we contact our Lender even though our contract w/ the loan mod. says not to interfere with the process. Please help. our days are conted

there should not be any contracts that say do not contact your lender. In the current situation the lenders are very backed up and as apposed to being proactive they are all in reactive state and the files are not reviewed until a few days before the sale. The company is at the mercy at the lender and times frames are getting longer.Who is your lender? This happens all of the time and does not ease stress.
