Default Can I downsize my new home

I am in the process of getting divorced and the amount of additional debt combined with suppoort payments and a new mortgage we just took on 3 months ago will slowly become untenable. I would probably lose money trying to downsize houses by selling. I am wondering if companies like Chase have helped homeowners downsize properties (that chase owns, i.e. modify the loan to be based on another property). That way I could still own a home and stay a customer just try to find a smaller home that they currently own and do some type of a swap and refigure monthly payments

Default loan modification help on another home

ok, now that is an unreasonable request. What will the bank do with the old property? And then lend you money on a new house? I am not trying to be funny but that really does not make sense.
