It happens all the time a bank is a bussiness. They make thier descions based upon profit and losses. They will only make the descion that makes the most financial sense at the end of the day...If you can walk away from your home and dont mind a credit hit, I have seen many people continue to live in thier homes withou making payments for 2-3 years before getting kicked out. They had over $25,000 saved up to make a new start by the time they got kicked out....jus to 2 cents good luck

Though short sale can also be an option but before that one has to get an expert review of the case. A loan Modification Attorney may be the best person to do that.
