Default Can a real estate agent help me find a place

to rent? I am in no position to buy a house, but I need a decent place to live for my family. I can't find a decent rental advertised for my area, and I'm very adamant about staying in this area. My goal is to eliminate my commute. My job and my kid's school are within a two block radius. I know there are vacant houses in that area, but how do I get myself into one? Could I contact the local realtor and ask if the seller would consider renting? Is that even done? Would the real estate agent charge me for this? I have no clue. Thanks for you input.Hi, thanks everyone for your input. I will contact an agent locally and see what they have to say. I have exhausted the online and newspaper searches and, like I said, I'm in no position to buy a house right now. As for my credit, I guess they'll have to take it or leave it. That's just the way it goes!

Absolutely. When I sold real estate we used to do it. The typical fee was/is one half of the first month's rent. The one half month fee is paid by the home owner, not you.

Call some reality offices and ask them. They probably have clients that are trying to rent there properties. Yes the agent will have a fee.
