They can sell it quicker, and if you're specific, they can help you find what you're looking for faster. If you have time and patience you can get more money if you sell it yourself, but an agent is also responsible for paperwork too so all in all it's better to get an agent, just try to negotiate a good percentage for yourself.

Yes The paper work is done by them, But if you could find a house without using one it would save you and the seller a lot of money. It would time up a lot of you time but you could do the paper work yourself with a banks help

The benefits are, as previously stated, the paperwork. If you have ever seen how many papers need to be filled out you would understand. Also the agent had access to many more listings than you can find on the internet and newspaper. Another pro is the fact that they can negotiate better on your behalf. Unless you are in the real estate business and know the in's and outs already, it is always better to have someone who knows those extra details that can get you a better deal. The main thing you need to do is find the agent that is right for you. The first one you come in contact with doesn't have to be the one you work with.
