Fl? Where should I look? I have completed my R.E. classes to become a FL agent but currently live in Mobile, Al. How would you recommend I find an agency that would take me on as a new hire? I am looking for a career not a job. Thanks!

Have you already applied for a Florida license and passed the Florida-specific real estate law exam (40 question test)?
If you have, it won't be a problem finding a broker to hire you. You can walk in any agency in town and get hired the same day. The real task will be finding a broker and peer agents you trust AND enjoy working with. A lot of brokers offer 95 -100% commission but of course you're responsible for the costs of your advertising, signage, etc. and may pay a monthly fee or even a percentage of all commissions earned (usually upto 2%). So be sure to get the details in writing before agreeing to place your license under someone. Timeshare sales are really big here (and lucrative) which is a relief for some in this slow buyers market, especially if your new to the market with no established base. But, trust me, moving here with a RE License, you won't have a problem finding a job! Good Luck! :-) |
