new home? I have a 20 year 4.875 mortgage (18 more years to go!) on my 1 bedroom condo. I'm 29 a y/o, married man, no kids, living in jersey city, nj. My wife and I are talking about having kids next year, My question is, I have some money I can either use to make extra monthly payments OR start saving for a down payment on a bigger home for my future family. I figure for a 350,000 home I would need about 70,000. I have about 500 dollars a month I can use to start saving for that or use towards extra payments. could use the advise! Thanks.
