Default Seeking bank or mortgage broker for...

...refinancing for foreign citizen? We own a house in Illinois that we would like to re-finance. The current rate is 6.125% and we are looking for a lower rate and possibly shorten the terms from 30 yr. to 15 yr. The house has about 50% equity in it and it is currently rented out since we now live in Europe. My husband used to be a permanent resident but returned the green card since he is no longer living in the US. I'm a citizen. We still do US tax returns every year but our income besides the rent is mainly in Europe. However, the income source is my husbands job. We have a very good US credit history and no debt in Europe. We know it is possible to obtain a mortgage for foreigners but so far we have not found a mortgage broker who was willing to go the extra mile and followed through with the requirements. We hope to find a reputable company who is willing to work with us this way.Happy New Year.
