loan if the home was purchased in cash with no mortgage? We tried for a home equity loan, and the lender said we had to live here at least 6 months first to it can acquire some equity. I explained again that the house was free and clear. (Got the same answer) I don't understand why that makes a difference if it already has 100% equity. Also - If (homeowner) has credit score of 555, but this 100% equity home....is there a lender that will loan $50,000?
