Default Does a Mortgage company have to report to the...

...credit agencys? Here's the deal... We hit a ruff patch a few years ago and yes we were late on some house payments, We got caught up and have been on time for the last 16 months.MY husband was called to active duty with the National Guard last year for 400 days & went to Iraq on his 2nd tour. Our mortgage company took our interest from 6% to 4% Because of the SSRA.. which was great! BUT today we pulled our credit reports (something we do yearly) and found that the mortgage company has not reported sense we caught up our payments that we have made the last 16 months on time. not all of the reports but some of them have the charts and they are colored red, yellow and Green... we have nothing showing from 5/10 on.... Shouldn't they be reporting that we are caught up and have been in good standing? Also on one of the reports it doesn't even show it as a Mortgage account, its listed under Negative (because of the late payments) but doesn't show it in good standing at the present time. and under Mortgage accounts nothing is listed.I have contacted our mortgage holder and am waiting a call back but I thought maybe someone here could offer some advise.

There is actually no law requiring any lender or business to report to any credit agency. It is an entirely voluntary concept sort of like everyone offering any sort of credit facility helping each other out by "flagging" delinquent borrowers
