Mortgage broker in same area as my house?

I want to buy a house, but before I start looking I want to go talk to a Mortgage broker. I live in a different town then I'm planning on buying, but in the same state. I'm wondering if I should look for a mortgage broker in the same town that I'm planning on buying in, or can I look in my current town?
