Which mortgage lenders don't require flood...
...insurance? Just curious if there are any out there which don't. My old one, Countrywide, didn't, but when Bank of America bought them, they actually bought the insurance for me and now they've jacked the insurance rates up an extra 300 dollars a month since last year.Well, Countrywide was always reasonable to me, I could afford it then, but since Bank of America took over my loan payment has gone up almost 400 dollars a month even though I have a fixed loan, they are forcing me to buy all kinds of stuff that wasn't in my original contract with countrywide, which i'm surprised they can even do. It seems like they're trying to force me out of my home, to me. I can't afford an extra 300 bucks every month, i already work two jobs and can't work any more.I didn't let my policy lapse, I still have other types of home insurance like fire, burglary, wind, etc. It's just that countrywide didn't require flood, so when BofA bought them out they bought a separate flood insurance policy for me...all last year, it was reasonable rates but all of a sudden, this month it does seem to be A LOT higher rates than other places charge. Yeah, i can get the insurance on my own, the problem is I have to pay the whole year on my own too, then send it in to BofA for a reimbursement check.... which could take up to four weeks. I don't have the money for that AND my house payment this month, so if I do that, my house payment will be late. I am just kinda still in shock since i logged on last night expecting to pay same as usual, and BOOM!... it's 300 bucks higher.
