...home after title search ended and before Closing? I bought my home from my husband's Cousins down the road from the farm, and payed cash 2 years ago. I did take out title insurance. I tried to close on my home and found out the previous owners took out a 2nd mortgage on the home after the title search was completed and before the closing. A couple of sharpies, eh? My question is what happens .... Can I sue for Damages? and who pays off the 2nd mortgage. Is this a crime? What is the name of the crime?
