Default Can social security (survivor benefits) be used to...
...qualify for a mortgage? I have guardianship of my brother (who is 17). He receives a monthly deposit from social security but will not receive it when he graduates from high school. Can his income be used to help me qualify for a mortgage?

Yes -- the lender will look at your Adjusted Gross Income from your tax return -- and those SS benefits will be included.
