o we are having a new house built and it should be ready at the beginning of October. We have already paid $20,000 over the course of a year while our house was being built. Now here's the dilemma...we don't have a mortgage. We are dealing with a mortgage broker who's saying that she will be able to get us approved, but we are just over a month away from the house being ready, and we still don't have any idea what the deal is with our mortgage. The mortgage broker keeps telling us that she's going to find us a mortgage and that we don't need to worry. But, we're worried because we are afraid that if we don't have a mortgage by the time they're done the house, we'll lose it and the $20000 that we already payed. So here's my list of question: Can anyone get approved for mortgage even if they have bad credit? Will the broker really be able to find us a mortgage? What happens if we are not approved for a mortgage by the time the house is finished being built? We're really worried we'll lose our home, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance!
