Default Can my husband and I get a mortgage?

He makes much less than myself but has great credit but my credit is not good. Also, he just started a new job, but it's the same line of work he was in before being laid off a few months back. Can part of my income be considered his without me having to have my credit checked? Thanks!

When it comes to a couple being evaluated for a mortgage, if your income is counted then all your negatives must be counted as well. Plus if you are married in many states they will check your credit even if your name isn't on the mortgage or deed. I can tell you from my experience getting a mortgage a few months ago, the days of gaming the system and putting something over on the mortgage company are over. They turn over every rock and stick their nose up your @ss, they will find everything.
