...get a mortgage? We are currently looking at a really great home, in our price range, that is split into two units. Since we are on a tight budget while my husband is going to school, we were thinking we could keep the tenant in the first floor and live in the second floor until he is finished with school and working full time again. Then when the lease us up for the tenant, we just would not renew it and renovate the home back into a single family.Does the home being a two-unit with a tenant affect anything with getting a mortgage? Does it help us, hurt us, or neither?
