My partner and I are currently saving for a deposit for our own house but we have no credit history as when we have wanted something, we have always saved for it so that we are able to buy it straight off. We don't have credit cards and don't want one unless we have to. Our plan is to open a joint bank account and have all our direct debits going out of this back. We are just wanting to find out how long we will have to do this for before we can start to apply for a mortgage?
