Most of them don't need unions because they bring value to a business that people are willing to pay for. Unions were created to protect workers in industries where employers were abusing the fact that the workers were easily replacable.If 500 assembly-line employees leave your favorite car company, will you stop buying that brand of car? Probably not, but if an investment banker leaves their firm, chances are very good that they will take all their best clients and millions or billions in revenue with them.This is why they don't need union protection.
