Default How Does A Mortgage Broker Confirm That An...

...Applicants Employer Actually Exists; I.e. Is A Real Company? With so many online tools to 'fake' being a business form creating fony website, to bogus business fax numbers through efax type companies....how can they be certain or is their a good faith verification effort that protects them from liability if they miss something?

they make a phone call to verify and also the employer has to fill out a verification form and the broker always asks for the most recent paystubs on top of the tax returns to confirm they really work there. The pay stub gives a lot of info such as year to date how much they've made, how many hours they work and contact info to verify all the info.
