mortgage contracts they didn't understand? yet has no problem expecting people to understand the 3000 page tax code they are required obey every year? My mortgage contract was 3 pages. I wish taxes were as hard to understand as a mortgage. No one forced me to sign my mortgage with threat of fines and imprisonment. Yet, we are expected to feel sorry for, and help bailout people who couldn't understand that their mortgage payments and living expenses would have to be less then thier income (sush a complicated concept?). Maybe if poor people didn't have to pay taxes that would help, but NOOOO Democrats will never cut taxes on anyone because that would mean actually controlling spending.goddess, Republicans made this mess??? Bush gave the Dems everything they wanted, including the community reinvestment act that required banks to sell loans to people they couldn't afford. Thats what caused the banks to fail and ruined the economy. Where have you been?

Have you looked at the whole picture here, most of these people are losing their jobs ok and most people are from a family who have indeed lost a job also so with that said there is not enough income to bring in either. You need to take a greater look at the picture. I am a Democratic but I am not considered poor my family works for the government and have for years bringing in six figures a year. And for the record, Barack Obama is the president and he is fixing the mess that your Republic president made.

Feeling sorry for them isn't the issue. I think most people think that they should be allowed to fail as they made their bed...etc...I don't like paying for some idiots home either. But it would kill the overall economy to let that many people go under. I resent having to bail them out too, but I see why it's being done. If you want to blame someone, look at the greedy bankers who made the bad loans. And then look at the people that got those loans they knew that they couldn't pay. If there were no taxes how would you pay for anything or do you want us to go back to the wild west days?
