Default How much influence does our mortgage lender

have on his underwriter? We are at the tail end of our home buying process. The appraisal and everything was done a week ago. Our lender called today and said that to finish out the loan we have a few options:1. wait 6 months to close2. get a short term (6mo) co signer3. He can pass our loan to a lender with a different underwriterHe also said that he is going to call the underwriter right now and go to bat for us because the only reason our loan came up risky this late in the game is because my husband just got back from being laid off. But my husband makes great money and we will not have a problem paying the mortgage. So I ask, how much influence does our lender have on his underwriter. Our lender has been awesome for us thus far.
