...can take over the mortgage payments? There is a house in my neighborhood that has been vacant for over a year. I found the email address of the owner and asked if the property will soon be for sale. She responded, and said that she filed for bankruptcy and the house was surrendered to the bank. She gave me the name of her mortgage company, and suggested that I inquire with them.Today there is a sign on the door, there will be a sheriffs sale/foreclosure auction in a few weeks.Is there any way to negotiate with the bank or mortgage company, even though a sheriffs sale is scheduled? If not, how can I find out the starting price of the auction? Any information about foreclosure auctions would be helpful, I don't know much, other than that they can be risky :/
