Not that I know of, they only do a credit check.

It depends on the mortgage you're attempting to get.
A lot of companies are using LexisNexis to see if you are really the person that is applying.
On LexisNexis you can see if the person graduated from college, is married, how many properties they own, where they have lived in the last 10yrs, etc

They'll do a credit check only. If they did a criminal background check there would be a lot of homeless drug dealers in Miami...lol.
