My boyfriend and I bought a house in Jan. 2007. We refinanced 3 months after we bought it. When we refinanced we put his name on the Mortgage and both of our names on the Deed. He just recently committed suicide. What happens to the house?

You need to notify the bank and go from there. If you just wanted to continue making the payments, I know the lender/servicer wouldn't care as long as they are being paid. I am not really sure what happens with the loan, but your boyfriend was the only one being held legally responsible for that loan b/c his name was on it.

You are an owner so the house should go to you. The question is how the mortgage was set up. Sometimes a mortgage is set up with insurance so that if the person dies, the mortgage is paid by insurance. Otherwise, you would have to get a loan to pay off the mortgage he had and then make your own payments on that loan.
