Default I rent an apt., and just received copy of court...

...papers to my landlord from their mortgage company? Someone dropped off court papers at my apt. last night. I live in the upper apt. in a regular house. The papers are against my landlord from his mortgage company, apparently hasn't been making payments on the house since late last year. Obviously I need to know how this affects me since I am renting there. Does this mean I should start looking for a new apt. right away, or should I contact someone first to see what's going on and all? I'm on my own with a child, so I definitely don't want to wait and end up kicked out and having to move last minute if the house is foreclosed. Thanks.
Just to add, there is no lease for 1 yr. etc. I did sign for the apt. in the beginning, but it's just a month-to-month thing, saying I had to give them 30 days notice if I was to ever move out (on my own doing, anyway! lol) There's no set time that I'm obligated or anything.
