We own a bed and breakfast and have been using our savings to cover a $6k/mo shortfall. We had hoped to sell the Bed & Breakfast this year before the crash. The crash happened and we lost our savings. We have no buffer to speak of. We did not make this month's mortgage on our home. We called Countrywide and tried to work out. We suggested that they allow us 2 months and put those 2 months at the end of the mortgage. They said they don't do that. They are supposedly working on an arrangement. But it didn't sound like it would really work for us. We have just laid off our head housekeeper saving us $1700/mo. The down turn in the economy is having an effect on our bed & breakfast business. This month (Nov) our business is down by 10%. We are down on the year nearly 10%.
