I lost my main job in July which provided us half of the family income. I took me a few more months to secure another job which shut down as well. I also worked at another job but they laid off most of their employees in January 08. We have been struggling to make the house payments, pay the credit card debts, utilities and family expenses. We have 4 children and my husband is the only one working. I've been trying to make as much payment as I can but I am too behind to catch up. I'd rather just give the house back to the lender but I found out that I could be penalized by the IRS. I am asking for just a couple months extra to try sell the home and move. I am working from home selling nutritional supplements but that's not very much. It's commission only and many weeks I don't get paid. The mortgage company is HFC Beneficial Foreclosure assistance.
